Termites Ate My Mobile, AL, Home – Really

We just had a case where a home worth more than half a million dollars had to be demolished because of termites. These homeowners had pest control inspections and treatments … or at least they thought they did.

Here is what we found out. There was actually very little treatment being done. Plus, the chemicals used were iffy at best. Pest control companies can save a lot of money by not using the most effective chemicals to protect your home.

Now the Mobile area is prime for termites. We are right on the water, and most everyone I know is paying for termite protection. But it is my experience that many people are not getting what they are paying for.

Here is another example my partner Bill was able to prove. He used the footage from the security cameras to show that the pest control workers didn’t even spent 15 minutes treating the house. It should take about 45 minutes to properly treat a home for termite prevention.

When confronted, the pest control company tried to use a variety of tactics to not pay up. These included: they are not termites, they are ants; it is really moisture that caused the termites and we don’t do moisture; and then finally claiming, it was old termite damage and they could not be responsible for that.

Look, when you first see termites, call a lawyer. Call one that understands our area here on the Gulf and will fight for you. If you are hit with termites, we can’t always get you your house back, but we can often get you the money to build a new one.

Just like with termite problems — if you suffer an injury, such as a traffic accident, slip and fall or injury from a faulty product, you can talk to us at the Law Firm of Eiland and Ritchie for free. We want to help you get back on your feet.

Also join us on NBC 15 LawCall here in Mobile every Sunday night at 10:30 right after the news. We do a short show on tape during the football season but will take your calls live again after the first of the year.
